  • #1Water Stories was a durational performance involving projection, story-telling, and the consumption of water. Water was a central theme, repeated in the contents of the stories and the images. Eight stories were separated by the drinking of eight glasses of water, during which images of children swimming were projected onto the performer. The performance referenced the biological connection with water (drinking eight glasses a day is considered ideal for health), and water as a medium of power, both personal and mortal. Each story either expressed water as a medium that could give the speaker pride, such as in swimming competitions, or a medium which could take life, such as the recounting of a drowning. Between each story, the glass of water was drunk, progressing from casual to forced.
